NORTHERN
EXPOSURE
Northern
Exposure was shot on location in the town of Roslyn, Washington
from 1990 to 1995.
While it was originally intended to be a summer replacement series
for CBS in 1990, Northern Exposure became a critical success, winning
a pair of Peabody Awards in 1991 and 1992. The show was recognized
for its down-to-earth morality, as delivered by a bevy of quirky
and warm hearted characters and extras, many of whom actually hailed
from Roslyn.
Northern Exposure was a story of people from diverse backgrounds
attempting to embrace their differences and get along. From these
meager beginnings, a staunch fan base emerged that to this day stretches
from Australia to England. Many of these fans still make a pilgrimage
to Roslyn every summer for the annual Moosefest celebration of Northern
Exposure.
